2026 Milano-Torino Results & Recap
2026 Milano-Torino is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.
Race Recap
Thomas Pidcock (PQT) claimed an impressive victory on his debut appearance in pro cycling's oldest bike race when he attacked 600 meters from the finish atop the Superga climb, his acceleration taking him 4 seconds clear of Tobias Johannessen (UXM) and 2021 winner Primož Roglič (RBH) at the line.
The Briton had admitted before the race that he didn't know much about the final climb, only that it probably suited him. His Pinarello-Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team obviously felt the same as they ensured that they had riders at the sharp end of the peloton for most of the race, with Walter Calzoni (PQT) their biggest workhorse as they focused on keeping the gap to the breakaway at a minimum.
It took close to an hour for that breakaway to form, Alessandro Milesi (BIE), Valentin Ferron (COF), Patrick Konrad (LTK), Andrea Pietrobon (PTV), Adrien Maire (URR) and Mathieu Burgaudeau (TEN) the riders that made the cut. Their lead never passed two minutes and they were reeled on climbing Superga the first time.
Nearing the top of the ascent, Roglič attacked and a group of a dozen riders then came together on the front as they descended. Adrien Boichis (RBH) then slipped away on the downhill, gained 20 seconds, but the young Frenchman was reeled in coming onto Superga for the second time.
Movistar set the pace up the first half of the climb, with leader Cian Uijtdebroecks then attacking halfway up it. This move took five riders clear, including Pidcock. Although the group swelled in size going into the final kilometer, it looked like the winner would come from one of this strong quintet, and so it proved, as Pidcock attacked to claim his second victory of the season.
