Course Preview
The Tirreno–Adriatico opens with an 11.5-kilometre individual time trial. On a perfectly flat road, the riders head back and forth along the Tyrrhenian Sea. The course is exactly the same as last year, when Filippo Ganna was the fastest.

It’s time for the flattest time trial of the year! The riders roll off the start podium in Lido di Camaiore and head north towards Fiumetto. After 5 kilometres, they reach the turnaround point, which doubles as the intermediate time check. They then blast back along the same road to Lido di Camaiore.
Last year, Filippo Ganna was comfortably faster than Juan Ayuso and Johan Price-Pejtersen. His winning time was 12 minutes 17 seconds, with Ayuso 23 seconds slower.
The Tirreno has opened with an individual time trial in Lido di Camaiore for several years, and it is usually a perfect day for Ganna. Only two years ago did Ayuso beat him, by a single second
