2026 Giro d'Italia Stage 11 Results & Recap
Stage 11 of the 2026 Giro d'Italia is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.
Race Recap
Jhonatan Narváez (UAD) took his third stage win and his team's fourth of this race when he outsprinted Enric Mas (MOV) at the end of a day of non-stop action between Forcari and Chiavari. The two riders had dropped the other members of the breakaway group on the final climb up to the Red Bull KM sprint, 12km from the line. Coming into the finish, Mas sat on his rival's wheel until 200m out, then kicked by on the right. Narváez was almost squeezed into the barriers, but punched clear to secure a hat-trick of wins.
On a day that looked well suited to a breakaway going the distance, the attacks began from the moment the start flag was waved. More than 50km passed before the break of the day began to form. Chris Harper (PQT) initiated the move, taking two riders with him. A few kilometers later, 9 more bridged up.
Several teams had missed out, though, including UAE. As the riders left the flat roads on the first half of the stage for the Ligurian hills in the second, the bunch closed down most of a 90-second deficit.
On the first categorized climb, the cat 3 Termine pass, Mas bridged up to the leaders with Lennert Van Eetvelt (LOI), while Narváez followed soon after, jumping across the gap on his own.
There were 17 riders in the break going onto the tough cat 2 ascent of the Colle di Guaitarola. By the top, 5 of them had been distanced for good. Christian Scaroni (XAT), Filippo Zana (SOQ) and Van Eetvelt then crashed on the descent, leaving 9 in contention.
On the cat 3 Scioli climb that followed, the whittling-down process continued, with just 6 riders out front at the summit.
On the final uncategorized climb to the Red Bull KM sprint, Mas attacked and Narváez responded quickly. Harper, who'd been out front most of the day, bridged across more slowly, only to be dropped when Mas attacked again, Narváez reacted instantly once again to set up the finale that only ever looked like having one conclusion given the winning form the Ecuadorean champion has shown so far.
There was no significant change in the GC standings, although Harper's efforts were rewarded with a move up to 10th place overall.
