With its inaugural edition held in 1896, Paris–Tours is one of the oldest Classics on the calendar. Chartres has served as the departure point since 2018, and that same year, the finale was revamped by the introduction of dirt roads, some of which head uphill. This Sunday marks the 119th edition of the race. The route covers 211.6 kilometres, features ten unpaved sectors and eight climbs — the last coming just 9 kilometres from the finish line.

Christophe Laporte is the defending champion. Last year, he was outgunned in a two-up sprint, while Jasper Philipsen claimed third place.

Arnaud De Lie aims to dethrone Laporte in Paris–Tours, while Olav Kooij, Matthew Brennan and two-time winner Arnaud Démare also have their sights set on a win in one of the oldest Classics on the calendar.
