Paris- Nice features the first summit finish in stage 4. Following a hilly day in the saddle, the stage culminates in a 6.7- kilometre climb with a gradient of 7.1%.

Two years ago, Paris-Nice also stopped at the ski resort of La Loge des Gardes. At that time, the battle for stage honors was a contest between Tadej Pogacar and David Gaudu, with the Slovenian decisively outracing his rival for the victory. In the previous edition, much of the climbing was concentrated in the latter part of the race; this time, the elevation gain is more evenly spread throughout the route. The climbing begins right from the start and intensifies after 26 kilometres, as the riders take on the Côte de Lavoine – a 7. 6- kilometre ascent with a gradient of 4.1%.

A lengthy descent leads to Cusset, where the Côte de la Bruyère presents a challenge of 3.9 kilometres at an average gradient of 4.8%. By this point, the peloton has covered just under 80 kilometres. Approximately 20 kilometres later – following a flat stretch and descent – the riders encounter the Côte de la Croix Bruyère. At 3.2 kilometres with a 5% gradient, it closely resembles the previous climb, even in name. With little descent, the riders then face the Côte du Canon, which steepens for 3.5 kilometres at 6.7%.

The KOM sprint does not align with the actual summit of the CĂ´te du Canon, as the road ascends for a few more kilometres at moderate gradients before finally descending. Roughly 30 kilometres from the finish, the route inclines for 1.4 kilometres at 5.9% to Le Mayet- de- Montagne, where the intermediate sprint takes place.

Another 11 kilometres down the road, the CĂ´te de La Chabanne is a warm-up for the final ascent. This 2.7 kilometre climb, with an average of 5. 3%, is followed by a flat- to- gently- descending section of 6. 3 kilometres. Then, it's time for the grand finale: the climb to La Loge des Gardes. This 6.7- kilometre ascent, averaging 7.1%, is steepest in its first half.

The first three riders across the line earn time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprint awards 6, 4 and 2 seconds.
