2024 Tour of the Alps Stage 4 Live Coverage

Course Preview
The riders travel from Laives to Borgo Valsugana in the Queen Stage of the Tour of the Alps. The race is 141.3 kilometres long and takes in an elevation gain of 3,830 metres. The Col San Marco - 5.2 kilometres at 7% - is the last climb before a 9.1 kilometres descent to the line.
The route climbs virtually from the start on the Passo di San Lugano. The riders reach the summit after 22 kilometres. Following a short descent and a rolling section at an altitude of 800 metres, the climb to Brusago (3 kilometres at 6.8%) serves as the subsequent challenge. It precedes the 4 kilometre climb at almost 9% on the Passo di Redebus.
The riders enter a long downhill towards Pergine Valsugana. Just before the town the route turns left to head for the Passo del Compet, which is a 10 kilometres climb with several sectors at double digits. The average gradient sits at 8.2%.
A technical descent leads towards Levico Terme. Instead of entering the spa town, a sudden turn to the left takes the riders back up again on inhumanly steep slopes. The first 4 kilometres of the Passo del Vetriolo rise at 11.5%. The average gradient of the 9.4 kilometres long climb sits at 8.7%, mainly because the last 2.4 kilometres flatten out considerably.
The riders descend to the Passo del Compet before flying further downhill to Levico Terme. After actually moving through town this time, the route follows the valley floor for about 10 kilometres and then the day’s final climb, Col San Marco, throws in 5.2 kilometres at 7%.
A 7 kilometres downhill from the Col San Marco leads to a flat run-in of 2.1 kilometres to the finish line in Borgo Valsugana.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprints come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
