The 2022 edition of Milano-Torino arrives as one of the season's final major one-day opportunities, slotting into the busy autumn calendar that also features Il Lombardia just days later. The race, which holds the distinction of being the oldest cycling race in the world still in existence, has found renewed prestige in recent years after being elevated back to WorldTour status, and this year's edition promises to deliver another compelling battle on the roads between the two great northern Italian cities.
The route will once again feature the iconic climb to the Superga basilica on the outskirts of Turin, that steep and punishing ascent that has become the defining feature of the modern race.
