Kiesenhofer wins Olympic Road Race
As the sole representative of Austria, Anna Kiesenhofer stormed to victory in the 137km Olympic road race today. The 30-year-old, in her Olympic debut, won solo out of an original breakaway of five, who were swallowed up in the final kilometres of the race. Annemiek van Vleuten (Netherlands) had to be content with second place after a massive miscalculation left the four fighting for silver and bronze. Elisa Longo Borghini (Italy) took third place.
