2026 Tour de France Stage 20 Results & Recap
Stage 20 of the 2026 Tour de France is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.
Race Recap
Richard Carapaz (EFE) won big on Alpe d'Huez. A day on from being caught and dropped by Tadej Pogačar (UEX) in the final kilometre of the first stage to the famous resort, Carapaz won the second finish on the Alpe, finishing 26 seconds ahead of Remco Evenepoel (RBH), who outsprinted Sepp Kuss (TVL) for second place.
Carapaz and Kuss were in the break that went clear on the Col de la Croix de Fer, the first climb of this "queen" stage. At the top of the final ascent, the Col de la Sarenne, Kuss had a lead of 18 seconds on the Ecuadorean.
Dropping through the resort to climb the last 3.7km of the famous ascent to the finish, Kuss crashed twice coming out of tunnels. The first time he was up quickly and kept a narrow lead, but the second tumble enabled Carapaz to fly by. The EF leader increased his advantage all of the way into the finish, bagging his second stage win in three days as well as the mountains title.
