Course Preview
The Queen Stage brings Mont Ventoux into the Tour de France Femmes for the first time. The 146.8-kilometer route contains a race-high 3,565 meters of climbing, beginning with the Col de la Grande Limite and Col du Colombier. After crossing the rolling roads near the Dentelles de Montmirail, the riders tackle the Col de Suzette before passing through Malaucène and Bédoin. The stage then culminates with the hors catégorie ascent of Mont Ventoux from Bédoin, a brutal 15.7-kilometer climb averaging 8.8%. The forested lower slopes are relentlessly steep before the route emerges into the exposed, rocky landscape above Chalet Reynard. The summit finish at 1,910 meters should produce the largest gaps of the race and could determine who carries the yellow jersey toward Nice.
