Course Preview
The race enters France on Stage 3, with 2,400 meters of climbing packed into a difficult journey through the Jura Mountains. The climbing begins almost immediately with the first-category Col de la Faucille, an 11.4-kilometer ascent averaging 6.3%. The riders then tackle the Côte de Lajoux and second-category Col de la Savine before reaching the final classified ascent, the 1.8-kilometer Côte de Chaux-Champagny at 6.4%, with about 25 kilometers remaining. The early mountains and long distance should make this an attractive stage for a strong breakaway, though the general classification contenders will need to remain attentive throughout the day.
