Race Recap

Jonathan Milan won in San Benedetto del Tronto for the third consecutive year, and Isaac del Toro lifted the Tirreno-Adriatico trident as overall champion. The final stage delivered the expected bunch sprint after a late solo move from Jonas Abrahamsen briefly threatened to spoil the script, and the 61st edition of this race ended with a worthy winner.

Abrahamsen (Uno-X Mobility) attacked with 7km to go and opened a gap that forced a coordinated chase from the sprint teams. A crash in the hectic closing kilometres briefly caught del Toro up, but he came through safely and rolled to the finish to confirm the overall. Milan, for his part, needed no help — Lidl-Trek delivered him in perfect position and the Italian did the rest, finishing comfortably ahead of Sam Welsford (Ineos Grenadiers) in second and Laurenz Rex (Soudal-QuickStep) in third. In the general classification, Matteo Jorgenson picked up bonus seconds at the intermediate sprint to leapfrog Pellizzari into second overall, with just one second between them. Final podium: del Toro, Jorgenson, Pellizzari.
