Race Recap

Tobias Lund Andresen won the bunch sprint in Magliano de' Marsi today, and the general classification stayed exactly where it was. The 221km transitional stage from Cortona served its purpose — moving the peloton from one sea to the other, wearing legs down, without forcing any GC decisions. That comes later this week.

The Danish sprinter from Decathlon CMA CGM timed his run perfectly out of a reduced sprint group, powering away from Arnaud De Lie (Lotto-Intermarché) and Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Premier Tech) to take the stage. No significant gaps opened in the general classification. Isaac del Toro held the blue maglia azzurra with four seconds on Pellizzari and 14 on Magnus Sheffield (Ineos Grenadiers). The real stages start tomorrow.
