2026 Ronde van Vlaanderen Results & Recap
2026 Ronde van Vlaanderen is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.
Race Recap
The records continue to tumble for Tadej Pogačar (UAD), who wrapped up a third Tour of Flanders success in four seasons after riding clear of arch-rival Mathieu van der Poel (APT) on the third ascent of the Oude Kwaremont. The Slovenian eventually finished 34 seconds ahead of the Dutchman, with Remco Evenepoel (RBH) taking a laudable third place on his debut appearance in this race.
This was Pogačar's 12th success in the Monuments and his fourth in a row dating back to last year's edition of Liège-Bastogne-Liège. He will go to Paris-Roubaix next week with his confidence sky high and hopeful of securing a first victory in the "Hell of the North", which would make him just the fourth rider in history to win all five of the biggest Classics.
His UAE Team Emirates XRG squad triggered the first key move on the race on the narrow cobbled ascent of the Molenberg, where Florian Vermeersch (UAD) drove hard at the front and split the peloton. Sixteen riders were in the front part of it, including Pogačar, Van der Poel, Evenepoel, Wout van Aert (TVL) and Mads Pedersen (LTK). This group caught the 12-rider breakaway soon after.
The next critical moment came the second time up the Oude Kwaremont, where Pogačar accelerated hard. Van der Poel and Van Aert stuck with him, with Evenepoel trailing a little behind. Near the top of the climb, Van Aert slipped back, while Evenepoel took up the pursuit behind the two leaders.
Although Evenepoel got as close as 4 seconds at one point, he never bridged the gap. Coming onto the Oude Kwaremont for the third time, Pogačar accelerated hard from the bottom, quickly building a clear advantage. His lead was only 4 seconds at the top, but it continued to grow on the false flat that followed and over the final climb, the Paterberg.
