2026 Paris-Nice Stage 7 Results & Recap
Stage 7 of the 2026 Paris-Nice is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.
Race Recap
Dorian Godon (IGD) took his first victory for Ineos Grenadiers in the tricolore French champion's jersey when he showed a clean pair of heels to his rivals in a reduced bunch sprint at Isola. After teammate Josh Tarling did a huge turn on the front on the ramp up to the finish, British champion Sam Watson led out Godon, who powered to the front with 150 meters remaining and was a bike length clear of Biniam Girmay (NSN) at the line, with Cees Bol (DCT) a close third.
The stage was much altered because of adverse weather conditions. Initially shortened to 110km last night, heavy rain and snow on higher ground resulted in the all of the scheduled climbs being cut from the route. In the end, the riders faced a 47km stage that rose gradually from the start near Le Plan du Var to the finish at Isola.
Tim Marsman (APT) was the main animator, attacking after 10km and building a lead of 40 seconds. After he was caught with 10km remaining, Nicolas Vinokurov (XAT) made a brief sortie, but the sprinters' teams kept him well within range, determined not to be denied the chance to let their fastman off the leash given the opportunity the elements had presented them with.
