2026 Liège-Bastogne-Liège Femmes is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.
Race Recap
Demi Vollering delivered a commanding solo victory at Liège–Bastogne–Liège Femmes, launching a decisive attack on the iconic Côte de La Redoute and riding clear to the finish in a dominant display of strength and control.
The race came together just ahead of La Redoute with 34 kilometers remaining, as the final breakaway was reeled in and the favorites prepared for the decisive phase. That’s when Vollering made her move. The European champion accelerated on the steep slopes of the climb and quickly carved out a gap, committing fully to what became a race-winning solo effort.
From there, Vollering turned the final stretch into a time trial. She powered over the Côte des Forges and the brutally steep Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons alone, extending her advantage while the chase group struggled to organize behind. At one point, her lead ballooned to more than two minutes before stabilizing at just over a minute inside the final kilometers.
Behind her, a select group formed featuring Puck Pieterse, Katarzyna Niewiadoma, Anna van der Breggen and others, but despite occasional attacks, they were unable to close the gap. Van der Breggen briefly animated the chase with a late move, but the group ultimately settled into a battle for the remaining podium places.
Up front, Vollering never faltered. Head down and riding at full tilt, she maintained a steady advantage all the way to the line, even allowing herself a smile in the closing kilometers as the victory became inevitable. She crossed the finish alone in 4:10:22, capping a stunning long-range attack that left no doubt about the outcome.
The chase group arrived 1 minute 29 seconds later, with Pieterse sprinting to second ahead of Niewiadoma and van der Breggen, all credited with the same time. Paula Blasi and Isabella Holmgren rounded out the top five at 1:48 down on the winner.
