Course Preview
Stage 6 of the Giro d’Italia Women is a 159-kilometre race with no more than 350 metres of elevation gain. The twisting finale could be a complicating factor in the event of a bunch sprint.
The only elevation change on the route comes at the beginning, where the riders gradually climb on a false flat before descending towards Lake Garda. They then ride all the way south along the lake before continuing across the Po plain towards Brescello.
The final kilometre provides the biggest challenge of stage 6, as it is quite technical and twisty and could easily disrupt a bunch sprint.
There are time bonuses of 6, 4 and 2 seconds up for grabs at the intermediate sprint, while the first three riders across the line receive 10, 6 and 4 seconds. Get more details at cyclingstage.com.
