Welcome to our live coverage of Stage 4 of the 2026 Giro d'Italia! Our live profile and commentary are below, followed by a preview of the technical aspects of the route.
Course Preview
The Giro d’Italia is back on home soil. At 144 kilometres, stage 4 runs on flat roads from Catanzaro to Cosenza until a climb of 14.4 kilometres at 5.9% sets up the finale.
In 2016, the Giro last visited Catanzaro, again straight after a transfer – that time from the Netherlands. The route then headed to Praia a Mare, where Diego Ulissi took the spoils.
The 4th stage follows virtually the same roads as it did ten editions ago. Most of the route hugs the Tyrrhenian Sea, but this time the riders turn right inland much earlier. Almost immediately, they are faced with the day’s only climb: 14.4 kilometres at 5.9%.
Once over the top at 921 metres above sea level, 43 kilometres remain. Roughly half of that distance goes downhill, while the other half tilts ever so slightly upwards towards the finish in Cosenza.
