Welcome to our live coverage of Stage 21 of the 2026 Giro d'Italia! Our live profile and commentary are below, followed by a preview of the technical aspects of the route.
Course Preview
The final stage of the Giro d'Italia is a circuit race in Rome. After an out-and-back to the Tyrrhenian Sea, the pilots navigate eight flat laps through the centre of the Eternal City.
The route couldn’t be more straightforward. First, the riders head out and back to Lido di Ostia — essentially Rome’s beach — before tackling the final circuit in the capital of Italy.
It’s the fourth consecutive year that the Giro finishes in Rome. In 2023, Mark Cavendish took the spoils; in 2024, Tim Merlier triumphed; and last year it was a (double) celebration for Olav Kooij and his Visma squad, as his teammate Simon Yates sealed the overall victory after his coup the previous day.
