Stage 4 of the 2025 Volta a Catalunya is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.

Roglic Outguns Ayuso at Montserrat Primož Roglič and Juan Ayuso sprinted for victory at the Montserrat Monastery. The Slovenian avenged his loss on the third day, defeating Ayuso and taking over the leader's jersey from him. The time gap? Zero seconds.
The peloton remained bunched until the intermediate sprint in Manresa, where Primož Roglič pocketed three seconds, finishing ahead of Axel Laurance and Juan Ayuso.
Then, the breakaway took shape. Lennard Kämna, Koen Bouwman, Georg Steinhauser, Frank van den Broek, Jesús Herrada, Geoffrey Bouchard, Embret Svestad-Bårdseng, and Diego Uriarte opened up a 30-second gap before Johannes Taune-Mittet, Brieuc Rolland, Lorenzo Germani, and Eric Antonio Fagúndez set off in pursuit. The four caught up with the leaders in a 10-kilometre chase, and together they rode to a maximum lead of three and a half minutes.
On the Turó del Puig, Steinhauser and Staune-Mittet headed out together, entering the finish climb one minute ahead of the peloton.
Steinhauser dropped Staune-Mittet on the early slopes, but UAE Emirates set a ferocious pace behind him. The German was caught 2.4 kilometres from the finish, and almost simultaneously, Juan Ayuso accelerated. He continued to push until he was alone, but Primož Roglič stealthily returned.
The chasers were not lagging behind either, but each time they thought they were closing the gap, either Roglič or Ayuso surged ahead. As they couldn’t shake each other off, it led to a sprint finish, with Roglič taking the win. He also swapped places with his rival in the GC, although they both sit at the same time.
