Stage 3 of the 2025 Volta a Catalunya is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.

Double Win for Ayuso in La Molina
At the ski resort of La Molina, Juan Ayuso and Primoz Roglic broke away from what remained of the peloton in the final 200 metres. The Spaniard edged out the Slovenian by a few millimetres, moving into the overall race lead.
After 10 kilometres, Mats Wenzel launched an attack, joined by Geoffrey Bouchard. Edward Planckaert also bridged the gap, but the peloton kept chasing, and the trio was soon caught.
Wenzel made another attempt, this time with Bruno Armirail, Lorenzo Germani, and Alex Molenaar. This move paid off, and the four established a 6-minute lead.
As the gap fell below two minutes on the Coll de Creueta, Armirail set off alone to extend the lead back to over 3 minutes.
On the final climb, the Frenchman was caught with 9 kilometres remaining. Sepp Kuss attempted to take over the attack, accompanied by Ben O’Connor, but they were soon reeled in.
Marc Soler made a move in the final six kilometres, with Lorenzo Fortunato and George Bennett on his wheel. While Bennett dropped off, Kuss took his place. The three opened up a 15-second gap but were caught inside the last 530 metres.
​At 200 metres from the finish line, Primoz Roglic accelerated with Juan Ayuso closely following. The Spaniard took the inside line, gaining a slight advantage, but Roglic drew level with a final surge. It was a photo finish, with Ayuso claiming the win by mere millimetres. As a result, he is the new leader of the Volta a Catalunya.
