2025 Tour de Suisse Women Stage 3 Results & Recap
Stage 3 of the 2025 Tour de Suisse Women is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.
Race Recap
Elisa Balsamo won stage 3 of the Tour de Suisse Women by the width of a wheel rim. It was that close — a photo finish that separated the Italian (Lidl-Trek) from Mischa Bredewold (SD Worx-Protime) by literally millimetres after a sprint that Balsamo launched too early but somehow held.
The 123.1km stage from Oberkirch to Küssnacht was animated from the very first kilometre by Olympic champion Kristen Faulkner (EF Education-Oatly), who went clear solo within 2km and built a maximum lead of 1:45. She rode past lakes, over the Bööler Passhöchi and the Aegeristrasse, and held her advantage for nearly 90 kilometres before being caught with 34km to go. On the Aegeristrasse, the GC battle erupted — Vollering took three bonus seconds at the first Tissot Kilometre sprint to narrow Reusser's lead to just two seconds, before Reusser reclaimed her margin at the second. Nothing else stuck, and the stage came down to a sprint in Küssnacht.
Balsamo opened it with 250 metres to run — further out than ideal. Bredewold surged from behind in the final 75 metres and the two crossed the line side by side. "I saw the photo and honestly wasn't sure which of us had won," Balsamo admitted afterward. It was Balsamo. Swiss champion Noemi Rüegg (EF Education-Oatly) took third. Reusser leads Vollering by three seconds heading into tomorrow's final stage.
