2025 Tour de France Stage 17 Live Coverage
Welcome to our live coverage of Stage 17 of the 2025 Tour de France! Our live profile and commentary are below, followed by a preview of the technical aspects of the route.
Course Preview
The 17th stage of the Tour de France spans 161 kilometres, traversing the Rhône Valley from Bollène to Valence.
Recent winners of a Tour stage in Valence include Mark Cavendish (2021), Peter Sagan (2018), and André Greipel (2015). With three sprinters in this mix, it’s highly probable that we’ll witness another fast rider clinching the victory in this Rhône town.
After leaving Bollène, riders navigate through the mostly flat Rhône Valley. Just before reaching the midpoint, they confront the Col de Boutière, which poses minimal difficulty at 5.7 kilometres with an average incline of 3.3%. Similarly, the Col de Tartaigiuille, situated a bit over 40 kilometres from the finish line, offers 4.3 kilometres at a gradient of 3.9%.
Indeed, the only likely hurdle to a mass sprint could be the wind, which can be quite strong in this part of France.
