Course Preview

The final stage of the Tour de France Femmes covers 124 kilometers. En route from Praz-sur-Arly to Châtel, the riders tackle the Côte d’Arâches-la-Frasse, Joux Plane, and Col du Corbier. The last 2.2 kilometers of the stage rise at 5.6% to the finish line.

Following a gentle uphill in the first few kilometers, the riders descend a long stretch to Sallanches. About 10 kilometers of flat terrain later, the Côte d’Arâches-la-Frasse appears, featuring 6.2 kilometers of climbing at 7.1%. There is no immediate descent at the top, but the downhill section begins a few kilometers later.

The race then proceeds through the Griffe valley toward Samoëns, located at the base of the Joux Plane. The 11.6-kilometer climb has an average gradient of 8.5%. The first half is relatively gentle, but from the seventh kilometer onward, the gradient hovers close to 10%.

There are about 60 kilometers of racing remaining at the summit of the Joux Plane. Riders with nothing to lose might choose to go all-in on the climb and see where it takes them.

A few kilometers after the Joux Plane, the riders cross the Col de Ranfoilly, then descend to the base of the Col du Corbier. The 5.9-kilometer climb features an 8.5% gradient. Although it’s the last KOM climb of the day, the uphill gradients are far from over. After the descent, the road gradually rises for 16 kilometers toward Châtel, where a short, sharp ascent of 1.4 kilometers at 7.5% awaits.

There are 6 kilometers remaining in Châtel. The first part is a short descent, followed by a gradual false flat uphill. As the riders near the finish, the road gets steeper, and in the final 2.2 kilometers to the ski station at Pré-la-Joux, the climb averages 5.6%.
