Course Preview
The second stage of the Tour de France Femmes covers 110 kilometers between Brest and Quimper. It's a hilly route with 1,800 meters of elevation gain. The final kilometer climbs at 7.5% in the first half before leveling out.
The first part of the route is flat to slightly rolling. Then, after about 50 kilometers, the Menez Quelerc’h offers 3 kilometers of climbing at 6.2%. The race continues as before until the Côte de Locronan rises for 800 meters at 8.9%. The top of the climb still leaves over 40 kilometers to race.
A few kilometers after the Locronan climb, the riders enter the final circuit, and moments later, they encounter the Côte du Chemin de Trohéir. The 1.1-kilometer climb at 5.7% gradient is close to the finish line, so it will be key in the final moments.
A bit over 4 kilometers after the Côte du Chemin de Trohéir, the riders cross the line for the first time. Riders aiming for the stage win should take note of the final kilometer. First, the road rises for 500 meters at 7.5%, then it flattens out.
After the first crossing of the line, the riders descend into a 700-meter slog at 8.1%. Then the route gently rolls upward, followed by a slight downhill section before facing the Côte du Chemin de Trohéir again. Again, it’s the same 1.1-kilometer climb at 5.7%.
The road then drops again, and with just 2 kilometers remaining, the asphalt begins to rise gradually. Just after the flamme rouge, the road ramps up—500 meters at 7.5%—before the final few hundred meters are flat.
Back in 2018, the men’s Tour de France finished on the same spot, with Peter Sagan winning ahead of Sonny Colbrelli and Philippe Gilbert.
