Course Preview
The Tour de France Femmes begins with a hilly stage. It's a short race, just 79 kilometers, featuring four climbs. The CĂ´te de Cadoudal is included three times, as it forms part of the finishing circuit. The finish line is located at the Cadoudal summit.
The race starts in the Breton town of Vannes, situated by the Gulf of Morbihan. The riders head north and reach the Côte Botségalo after nearly 30 kilometers. The first King of the Mountains (KOM) points are available at the 800-meter climb with a 5.3% grade.
The peloton is 47 kilometers into the race when they enter the finishing circuit. The first crossing of the Côte de Cadoudal—1.7 kilometers at 6.2%—occurs 4.2 kilometers into the loop.
The circuit is 13.9 kilometers long and is repeated twice. After crossing the finish line, the loop begins with a descent, followed by a slight incline, and then another downhill section leading to the foot of the CĂ´te de Cadoudal.
Since the loop is run twice, the CĂ´te de Cadoudal will be climbed three times. The steepest part, with a gradient of 9%, occurs 500 meters before the finish line.
