Course Preview
The town of Adelaide hosts the final stage of the 2025 Tour Down Under. At 90 kilometres, the race is made up of twenty identical laps of 4.5 kilometres with a total elevation gain of 768 metres.
If the GC is not a foregone matter, the race could be extra thrilling thanks to the time bonuses. But if it is, it’s merely a case of avoiding crashes before the sprinters duke it out on the slightly downhill finish.
The last stage's start and finish are on King William Street, while Montefiore Hill is the only elevation on the course. It's not much, though: The average gradient of the 560-metre ascent is 4%.
It’s been six years since the Tour Down Under last concluded with an Adelaide criterium. André Greipel (2013, 2014, 2018), Wouter Wippert (2015), and Caleb Ewan (2016, 2017) claimed victories in the last six editions before that. So, it’s a safe bet to expect a bunch sprint.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while two intermediate sprints come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
