Ewan Claims Stage, Schachmann Remains Leader
In the thrilling stages of the Tour of the Basque Country, Caleb Ewan took full advantage of the only sprint opportunity, while Maximilian Schachmann held onto his impressive overall lead.
Among the breakaway riders were Xabier Isasa, Tobias Bayer, Diego Uriarte, Sinuhé Fernández, and Julen Arriola-Bengoa, who worked hard together but never managed to stretch their lead beyond 3 minutes.
As they approached the finish line, Arriola-Bengoa fell behind, and Isasa was the last of the attackers to be caught just 2 kilometers from the end.
In an exciting finish, Caleb Ewan powered ahead to claim victory in the sprint, all while Maximilian Schachmann successfully maintained his commanding lead in the overall race.
