2025 Giro d'Italia Stage 2 Live Coverage
Welcome to our live coverage of Stage 2 of the 2025 Giro d'Italia! Our live time-trial times and commentary are below, followed by a preview of the technical aspects of the route.
Course Preview
The second stage of the Giro features a 13.7-kilometre individual time trial in Tirana, Albania's capital. Riders encounter a 1.2-kilometre climb with a gradient of 5.7% midway through the course.
Tight turns throughout the route will decrease the riders' speed, while the stretches in between are straight and spacious. After 5 kilometres, they arrive at Parku i Madh, or the Grand Park, riding along its edges before facing the only climb, which starts with 900 metres at a gradient of 6.4% before leveling off. Overall, this climb averages a 5.7% gradient over its length of 1.2 kilometres.
At the top, riders will make a U-turn and descend the opposite side of the road.
Last year’s Giro included two individual time trials, with Tadej Pogacar winning the first, ending with a short climb, and Filippo Ganna taking the second, which was entirely flat. Both courses were significantly longer than the one in Tirana.
