Course Preview
Stage 18 of the Giro features three climbs in the first half of the race, followed by flat terrain. The route spans a total of 144 kilometers.
Of the three climbs, the first is the steepest. It takes the riders to Parlasco over 7.6 kilometers, with an average gradient of 6.2%.
After a brief descent, the route continues at an elevation of approximately 500 meters for 10 kilometers. The riders then tackle the Colle Balisio, which is 4.7 kilometers long and has an average gradient of 3.4%. Following the descent to Lecco, the Ravellino presents the final opportunity to gain mountain points, featuring an 8.7-kilometer climb averaging 4.4%.
From the summit, the road rises for another 3.1 kilometers at 4.1% before gently descending toward the completely flat run-in to the finish line, which stretches over 50 kilometers.
