Course Preview

Dwars door Vlaanderen is contested over a 184.2-kilometre route featuring seven stretches of pavé and ten climbs. The majority of the action is concentrated within an 85-kilometre section south of the cycling hotbed, Oudenaarde.

The first 70 kilometres serve as a quiet phase to warm up. Following the start in Roeselare, the riders pass the finishing venue, Waregem, and then continue toward Oudenaarde. That’s where the race is expected to intensify.

The riders tackle multiple loops in the area south of this cycling mecca. First up is the Volkegemberg, with the cobbled Holleweg in its wake, after which two loops featuring Berg Ten Houte, Knokteberg-Trieu, Hotond, and the cobbled Mariaborrestraat are ridden. The last ‘helling’ before returning to Oudenaarde is the Eikenberg. The riders descend to Oudenaarde and return toward Waregem. Two stretches of pavé precede the next climb, the Nokereberg – 500 metres at 5.7% -and moments later, the riders enter the finishing circuit around Waregem, which includes 800 metres of pavé on the Herlegemstraat, traversed twice: first before crossing the finish line and second after the last climb on the Waregemsestraat (essentially the Nokereberg from another side).

Last year, Matteo Jorgenson attacked from an elite group with 7 kilometres remaining and won the race, finishing 29 seconds ahead of Jonas Abrahamsen and Stefan Küng.
