Stage 4 of the 2024 Tour of the Alps is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.

Stage 4 delivered another thrilling day of racing in the mountains as the peloton tackled a demanding route that once again tested the climbers in the field.
The day's racing came alive on the final ascent, where the general classification contenders began to make their moves. The breakaway that had gone clear earlier in the stage was gradually reeled in as the road tilted upward, setting the scene for the expected battle between the favorites.
Derek Gee continued his impressive form at this race, having already shown his climbing credentials in earlier stages. The Canadian rider from Israel-Premier Tech proved once again that he is one of the strongest men at this year's Tour of the Alps, attacking on the final climb and putting time into his rivals. His performance was controlled and measured, the mark of a rider in excellent condition.
Behind him, the other general classification contenders fought to limit their losses, with riders like Thymen Arensman and others doing what they could to stay in contact, though Gee's acceleration proved difficult to follow for most of his rivals.
The stage result further consolidated Gee's position in the overall standings, strengthening his grip on the race lead with just one more stage remaining before the conclusion of this year's race through the beautiful Alpine terrain of Italy and Austria.
The final stage will now be eagerly anticipated as the remaining contenders look for any opportunity to challenge Gee's lead.
