Welcome to our live coverage of Stage 2 of the 2024 Tour de Suisse! Our live profile and commentary are below, followed by a preview of the technical aspects of the route.
Course Preview
The second stage of the Tour de Suisse travels from Vaduz to Regensdorf at 177.3 kilometres. It's a flat-to-lumpy test featuring an elevation gain of 2,411 metres.
The first 70 kilometres are flat, except for a 4.3 kilometres climb at 6.6% in Obstalden. After this interruption, the route continues as before, and then a 5.9-kilometre climb at 6.1% in Bildhaus am Ricken precedes the lumpier second part of the race.
This section, lasting all the way to the finish, is where the race could be won or lost. The Regensberg, a formidable 2.2 kilometres climb at 7.7%, is the last uphill of the day, with the summit 9.8 kilometres from the finish, setting the stage for a thrilling finale.
The riders fly downhill to a flat 5 kilometres run-in to the line.
Starting at kilometre 150.8, the Golden Kilometre offers two opportunities to gain time bonuses of 3, 2, and 1 second. The first three riders at the finish line take 10, 6, and 4 seconds.
