Course Preview
We're halfway through the Tour de France Femmes when the race finally reaches home soil. Featuring 150 kilometres and over 2,000 vertical metres, the 5th stage travels on a lumpy route from Bastogne to Amnéville.
KOM points are up for grabs on five occasions. The first hill is the CĂ´te de Hotte, a 1.2-kilometre climb at 7.9%, with its summit 12 kilometres into the race.
Shortly after crossing from Belgium into France, the Côte de Saint-Pancré offers the second uphill test. It’s far from the hardest, with 1.5 kilometres at 3.9%. Almost 10 kilometres later, a similar obstacle throws in 1.5 kilometres at 4.6%. The Côte de Fermont is situated halfway through the fifth stage.
The second half of the race takes place on more rolling terrain. Two inclinations are KOM worthy. The CĂ´te de Briey is a 1.1-kilometre hill at 4.4%, while the CĂ´te de Montois-la-Montagne adds 1.7 kilometres at 6% to the mix.
There are 15.5 kilometres remaining after the CĂ´te de Montois-la-Montagne. This section opens with a descent to Rombas before flat roads lead to the slightly uphill home straight.
