Course Preview
The 1st stage of the Tour de France Femmes has bunch sprint written all over it. The route between Rotterdam and The Hague is as flat as can be.
The Tour de France Femmes sets off from Museumpark in Rotterdam and does not head for The Hague straight away. A loop takes the riders across Voorne-Putten, an island south of Rotterdam, before heading to the Northsea coast via the Westland. This area between the start and finish venue has been nicknamed ‘glass city’, because of its horticulture in glasshouses.
The race moves through villages such as Honselersdijk’s Gravenzande and Monster before a loop in The Hague leads to an inevitable bunch sprint in Kijkduin, a southern suburb of The Hague, next to the beach.
