Stage 5 neutralized after crash
A huge crash took place in the peloton with 20 kilometres remaining and as there was a shortage of ambulances, the ASO then decided to neutralise stage 5. The riders travelled the last part of the route to the finish line, but no times were taken.
KOM leader Mathis Le Berre and Tobias Bayer initiated the breakaway early on, while Ådne Holter rejoined them a little later. The trio opens up a 4-minute gap, while Le Berre cemented his KOM lead on all three summits.
Holter lost contact within the last 40 kilometres.
The gap of the remaining two fell to 30 seconds when a massive crash on the descent of the Côte de Bel-Air took down half the peloton. The race was neutralised and no times were taken.
