2023 Tour de Romandie Stage 5 Live Coverage
Welcome to our live coverage of Stage 5 of the 2023 Tour de Romandie! Our live profile and commentary are below, followed by a preview of the technical aspects of the route.
Course Preview
The last stage of the Tour de Romandie is 170.9 kilometres long and goes from Vufflens-la-Ville to Geneva. Either a bunch sprint or a victor from the breakaway is to be expected.
Vufflens-la-Ville lies just north of Lausanne. The shortest route to Geneva is 60 kilometres, but the riders take a detour to add 110 kilometres to it. Two intermediate climbs appear after the midway marker before a short and steep ramp inside the last 15 kilometres could provide the raw materials to shake things up. Either by dropping the fast men or by shattering the lead group.
Geneva saw three Tour de Romandie stage finishes since 2016. Which resulted in stage wins for Primoz Roglic (2019, ITT), Pascal Ackermann (2018, bunch sprint) and Michael Albasini (2016, sprint of a select group).
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
The 5th stage of the Tour de Romandie starts at 11:50 and the race is expected to finish around 16:00 – both are local times (CEST).
