Course Preview

Stage 3 on the Tour Romandie is an individual time trial of 18.8 kilometres long. Following a flat run-up the riders climb to the ski station above Châtel-Saint-Denis to descent on another side.

The riders moved through Châtel-Saint-Denis in last year’s Tour de France. They were underway from Aigle to ski area Portes du Soleil, where Bob Jungels rounded out a successful solo.

Back then, Jungels was part of a huge lead group while moving through the village. The riders storm through Châtel-Saint-Denis one by one this time.

The first 7 kilometres are flat before a 6 kilometres climb at 5% takes the riders to the ski station of Châtel-Saint-Denis. The route returns on another side of the mountain to finish close to the starting ramp.

Last year, the Tour de Romandie concluded with a time trial for mountain goats, as the lion’s share of the route was a 9.9 kilometres climb at almost 8%. Aleksandr Vlasov climbed to triumph and sealed the overall victory at the same time.

The first rider starts at 14:11 and the last one is expected to finish around 17:30 – both are local times (CEST).
