Course Preview
The longest stage of the Tour de France Femmes adds up to 177 kilometres. The first half is virtually flat and following an undulating phase it all comes down to the hilly last 35 kilometres. The finish line appears shortly after a 570 metres ramp at 10.1%.
The Col de Crayssac – 2.3 kilometres at 4.8% – is somewhat lost in the flatness of the first 80 kilometres. Then the Côte de Saint-Jean-de-Leur ushers in the next phase. Far from hard either – 3 kilometres at 4% -, but it marks the beginning of a more undulating phase.
The longest stage of the Tour de France Femmes really sets off at the base of the Côte de Colombiès, 136 kilometres into the race. The Colombiès – 6.5 kilometres at 4.2% – is followed by a short climb to Limayrac and a descent to the L’Ayeron river.
The final 20 kilometres of the race are the most intense. The riders conquer the Côte de Moyrazès, Côte de Lavernhe and Côte Saint-Pierre in quick succession. The first is 4.6 kilometres at 5.5% and the second 2.2 kilometres at 7.1% before the route descends in rolling fashion to the third. The Côte Saint-Pierre opens with a false flat before a 570 metres section at 10.1% makes way for the last 2 kilometres at 2.6%.
