Pogacar wins final stage, overall title

Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) won the last day of Paris Nice in decisive fashion after attacking his closest rivals on the final climb, Col d'Eze and never looking back. The stage win brought his grand total to three at this year's edition of the Race to the Sun and put an exclamation point on his form heading into the spring classics. David Gaudu (Groupama - FDJ) took second overall at 53 seconds and Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) was third at 1:39 down on the Slovenian.

I never participated in Paris-Nice before," Pogacar said. "I was good at the first races of the season and it was always my goal and my dream to win Paris-Nice. I’m very happy. They say attack is the best defense. I really know these roads, I’ve done lots of training here. I know exactly how my legs are in the climbs. I was really good with maths today. To be alongside Gaudu and Vingegaard on the podium is special. They are great riders. If I don’t win anything until the end of the season, it’s still not bad."
