Stage 1 of the 2022 Tirreno-Adriatico is in the books. The final results and standings are below, followed by our recap of how the race unfolded.

Success for Filippo Ganna in the inaugural time trial of the Tirreno-Adriatico 2022. In the 13.9 kilometers of the Lido di Camaiore test, the world champion of time trials set a time of 15'17 ", beating Remco by 11" Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) and 18 ″ Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), who therefore already earn something against their rivals in the ranking. Fourth place for Kasper Asgreen (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl), who had been the interim leader before Ganna's arrival; the Dane, in turn, had ousted Alex Dowsett (Israel-Premier Tech), who had occupied the hot seat for most of the test. The top ten is closed by the Italian time trial champion, Matteo Sobrero (Team BikeExchange-Jayco), who is 39 ″ behind the winner.
