Course Preview
The 2022 Giro d'Italia kicks into gear with a flat stage of 195 kilometres with a punchy finish. The riders set off from Budapest to finish on a punchy climb to the castle of Viségrad.
The route hardly features any obstacles. Basically, the only ascent of the day begins after 190 kilometres in the saddle. Starting from Viségrad's center, the finish climb in the town's citadel is 5.5 kilometres long and rises at 6%.
Filippo Ganna stormed to the pink jersey on the ITTs of the two most recent editions of the Giro d'Italia. A puncher is the most likely candidate to take the first pink jersey in the coming edition.
