Roglič seals overall with TT win on final stage

Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) proved he is the king of the Vuelta after sealing his third consecutive overall in Santiago de Compostela today. The Slovenian superstar clinched the red jersey after a stonking time trial, where he not only put time into second place, Enric Mas (Movistar Team), he caught and passed the Spaniard at the end of the 33km time trial effort.

“It’s unbelievable. It’s crazy. Sometimes you win by a lot, sometimes you win by really a little, but as long as you can win it’s super nice,” said Roglić, who now falls into an elite class that have won the Vuelta four times. “I’m not focusing on numbers and statistics but I’m honoured to be in that place."

The Slovenian won with a time if 44 minutes and 2 seconds, 13 seconds ahead of Magnus Cort. \n
