Moscon wins stage 3

Gianni Moscon Gianni Moscon (Ineos Grenadiers) took his second stage win at the Tour of the Alps, outsprinting Felix Großschartner (Bora-Hansgrohe) in Naturno. The two pulled away from the original breakaway after attacks in the latter part of the stage. Michael Storer (Team DSM) took third on the day.

Adam Yates finished safely in the bunch to retain the leaders jersey. He is 45 seconds ahead of Pavel Sivakov (Ineos Grenadiers) and a minute and six seconds ahead of Pello Bilbao (Bahrain Victorious) before stage 4.

“It was a tough stage, but the team was really in control and we did a good job," Yates said. "There were a lot of guys trying for the breakaway because I think today was the last chance. The team did a really good job today to control so today wasn’t so difficult for me. I felt the effort from yesterday, but I didn’t have to go into the wind and now we look forward to tomorrow and the final stage. Tomorrow, it’s going to be a very difficult day. The race is not finished, I have a good gap, but you never know.”
