The spring classics season reaches its crescendo on Sunday as the world's best female riders line up for one of cycling's most prestigious one-day races. The cobblestones and brutal climbs of Flanders provide the backdrop for a contest that demands tactical intelligence, raw power, and the ability to handle the unpredictable terrain that makes this race so special.

Defending champion Anna van der Breggen will be among the favorites once again, though she faces stiff competition from a deep and talented field. The Dutch rider has been in excellent form throughout the spring and will be looking to add another monument to her already impressive palmares before she transitions into a new role in the sport.

Annemiek van Vleuten is another name that demands attention. The Movistar rider is one of the most complete cyclists in the women's peloton and has the climbing ability and time trialing strength to be a major force on the bergs. Her aggression and willingness to race on the front makes her a constant threat.

The Flemish climbs, including the iconic Koppenberg, Oude Kwaremont, and Paterberg, will shake apart the peloton and force the selection that ultimately decides the race. Riders who save energy in the early kilometres and position themselves well heading into the final circuits around Oudenaarde will be best placed to challenge.

Trek-Segafredo and SD Worx bring strong and deep squads that could dictate the early racing and set up their respective leaders for the finale. With dry conditions forecast and a stacked start list, this promises to be an enthralling afternoon of racing in the heart of Belgium.
