What a dramatic day in the mountains as the 2020 Tour de Suisse delivered another thrilling stage for the peloton. The riders tackled a demanding route that tested the climbers and gave the general classification contenders plenty to think about heading into the final days of racing.
The stage saw an early breakaway group establish itself off the front, with several riders eager to take advantage of the difficult terrain and make their presence known. The peloton allowed the escape group to build up a reasonable advantage as the kilometers ticked by, with the teams of the overall contenders content to control the gap rather than chase aggressively early on.

Richie Porte also demonstrated his quality as one of the favorites for overall honors, responding well to the accelerations of his rivals on the climbs.
