Course Preview

The final stage of the Vuelta a España runs from Fuenlabrada to Madrid. As (almost) always, the Spanish Grand Tour ends on a 5.9 kilometres circuit in the Spanish capital. Flat route, so expect a group sprint. The race is 106.6 kilometres long.

Fernando Torres was born in Fuenlabrada. The retired striker of Atlético Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea and AC Milan became World Champion in 2010.

Following a slight detour the riders hit the 5.8 kilometres circuit in the city centre of Madrid. It’s flat and straightforward, and it’s raced ten times. And it’s a safe bet to expect a bunch sprint in Madrid. Previous winners at this arrival are Elia Viviani (2018), Matteo Trentin (2017), Magnus Cort (2016), John Degenkolb (2015, 2012), Michael Matthews (2013), Peter Sagan (2011), and Tyler Farrar (2010).

The finish line of the Vuelta a España is at the Plaza de Cibeles.
