Course Preview

Stage 4 presented by America First Credit Union returns to downtown Salt Lake City for the 12th time in Tour history. The traditional circuit course is back for a third time, with the high-speed descent of N. Virginia Avenue, severe incline on North State Street, and start/finish line on East Capitol Boulevard next to the Utah State Capitol campus. This 6.7-mile (10.8-km) circuit is the same course that was first introduced in 2013 and used again in 2017. There will be eight total laps this year, for 54 miles (86.5 km) of racing. Intermediate sprints will provide bonus points on laps 3, 5 and 7. The after-hours workday affair will take place 6-8 p.m. Stage 4 will offer a number of viewing areas for residents and visitors, including City Creek Canyon and Reservoir Park. There are no Utah Office of Tourism KOM points on Friday; however, Stage 4 packs a punch with 4,460 feet of elevation gain.
