Course Preview
At 146.2 kilometres, the 3rd stage in the Tour Down Under travels from Lobethal to Uraidla. The race begins with a circuit and ends with seven hilly laps around Uraidla. The elevation gain is 3,337 metres.
The peloton sets off in Lobethal. Following a 13.8 kilometres loop, the route once again moves through the departure place to head for the only KOM climb of the day. Fox Creek is crested at kilometre 37.9 before the riders continue through Forest Range south to Uraidla.
The 2018 Tour Down Under saw a first-ever finish in Uraidla. Following a demanding finale, Peter Sagan outsprinted Daryl Impey and Luis León Sánchez on the line. The end of this year’s Uraidla stage is different though. The riders complete seven laps of 13.9 kilometres on a hilly circuit around the rural town in the Adelaide Hills.
The first three riders on the line take time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprints (at kilometre 4.7 and kilometre 18.6) come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
The 3rd stage of the 2019 Tour Down Under starts at 11:00 and the finish is expected around 14:39 – both local times.\n
