Course Preview
Stage Overview: The highest mountain in the Wasatch Range has become legendary in the Tour of Utah. Mt. Nebo has now been included 5 times in the Tour of Utah. Since the race became a UCI sanctioned event, there has only been one winner: Lachlan Morton. 2018 will crown a new king of Mt. Nebo with Lachlan using the Tour of Utah as a springboard to a World Tour contract, he will not be back to Payson to defend his title. In 2018, the route will start and finish in Payson, after a 12 mile circuit north of town into Utah County. The race will return to Payson for a sprint in front of historic Peteetneet Museum before coming back though the start/finish at Memorial Park. Racers will make the final push to the climb up the Category 1 Mt. Nebo. The long descent into Payson has been technical enough, and riders have a tough time chasing back on. Expect a lone rider or some group over the top to make it to the finish together.\n
